There are many reasons for that - there are amazing sights far and wide, adventurous friends are located states away, and of course the weather in Washington makes snow-free exploration tough much of the year. The route winds up and over Roaring Ridge in the Entiat Mountains before descending steep switchbacks to the one-store town of Ardenvoir which has a small café, gas and basic rations. The next 30 miles have a gain of over 4,000 feet as riders climb McKenzie Ridge and the Chelan Mountains. Last summer we did the WABDR Sections 1-3. Started July 13th 2021. We loved Section 1 and went back in August to explore the area more. I have seen a lot of post of people stuck in the snow in June in the WABDR Section 1.
