Steam ships the deck fedex home delivery...those drivers don't actually work for fedex. What they do is bid the routes out and whoever comes in the lowest gets the route. What you do is, once you get a tracking number, you can go to their site and change the shipping stuff. You should be able to select hold at fed ex facility for pickup. There might be some sort of serial number, but I don't see how it would be remotely read. The only number that would be unique to OP's individual Steam Deck is MAC address but those are a) not guaranteed to be unique b) easily changed.
